About
I created this biography to introduce myself and show you how I came into kiteboarding.
I started my kitesurfeur life when born in the south of France at Antibes exactly in 1986. I didn’ t stay very long there, in fact, when I was around 2 month old my parent brought me to the Caribbean in Martinique .
I spent my youth under the coconuts threes bouncing between the French Riviera and the Caribbean where my father works as a painter.
Very young, I was already in the water, playing with the waves and diving . I started surfing very young; as I was very interest about all water -related sports like fish diving, surfing, wakeboard, skimboard ….
I didn’ t windsurf before discovering kiteboarding. I remember, it was in 1999 at the begining of the sport, my uncle Laurent Fiore tought me how to control a kite. I enjoyed it at the very begining. He gave me a small 3 m foil kite and I started to play with it on the beach ,
jumping, bodydraging,…
Just after school, with my small foil kite I went directly to the beach playing with it but it wasn’t enough, I wanted to use the power of the kite on the water but I didn’ t had enough money to buy the complete gear which was very new at the time.
So I was trying with a big windsurf board , my old bodyboard and my small 3m foil kite…
It wasn’t enough, but the money being an obsctacle to purshase some gear, my uncle told me to make my first kite myself, he gave me the construction plan, the “spi” and my grand mother’s sewing machine.
I spent over 3 month to build it on my own, I was around 14 years old… and the kite was flying, it was a copy of the first Naish “AR 3.5.7 m.
Gerome Caillet the Shaper from Radical gave me one of his old directional board; I could kite for real.
Then I faced many problems with the gear, During 2 years, each time I was going kiting on my own, Ifaced many difficulties with the equipment. The kite was flying but the material wasn’t strong enough to last long .
One day, after watching me having so much trouble druing those years, a friend gave me his old kite, it is when I really started to progress.
In 2003 I started my first competition and I won my first contest in Martinique, it was the Caribbean championship.. After, I became Martinique Champion Senior.
In may 2004 I had to pass my latest school exam “Le BAC”, (a scientific one). I then started medical studies, but I quitpretty fast because I was missing kiting,
I started to train a lot, went to Dominican republic to become an IKO instructor, this gave me the oportunity to work, make enough money to live and kite a maximum.
I had the chance to compete in various competition around the worl ( KPWT, PKRA, …) and got some great results became Caribbean champion several times and started to get enough sponsor to live out of kiteboarding.
It has been now over 4 years I am kiting with Ocean Rodeo, and it is becoming better each upcoming season.
I now work on the development, have my own pro model board and travel the world looking for the most beautiful places to kite.
During those years of kiting I started to show interest in photography, video and movie editing, I also designed my own website and may others.
Traveling around the world I try to get as many pictures and videos as possible and share them in the kite magazines or website.
The world is endless, make it small, explore more !
